Neighborhood Crime Watch

Non-violent crime is down a big 47.4%!
Violent crime is down even more - an amazing 83.3%!

Expanded Neighborhood Patrol (ENP) is a program coordinated through the Dallas Police Department employing off-duty police officers to patrol our neighborhood. The program gives Crime Watch members the advantage of a police response within seconds to their pages whenever an ENP officer is on duty.

Our dedicated officers have become experts on our neighborhood, able to quickly recognize suspicious activity. With the data terminal in the patrol car, they can check for warrants on suspicious people and check to see if vehicles are stolen. In short, ENP gives us something that the Dallas Police Department cannot provide at this time: our own beat officers.

With HSMNA picking up the tab for the patrol car, the data terminal in the car, mileage costs, and the paging system, all membership dues go directly to the patrols. Currently, we have 20-24 patrol hours per week.

ENP would be even more effective if all neighborhood residents were a part of the solution. Thirty-five new Crime Watch members would enable us to add an additional four-hour patrol every week. Fifty-two new members would underwrite an additional six-hour shift.

With your Crime Watch membership, you receive these exclusive benefits:

  • The ability to contact our ENP officers for emergency and non-emergency purposes.
  • Extra surveillance of your home when you're away on vacation or business trips.
  • Crime Alerts, such as the recent one warning members of the increase in burglaries.
  • Monthly Crime Watch reports, including crime statistics for the previous month and valuable information to help you and your family avoid becoming crime victims.
  • The convenience of having one of our ENP officers make a police report for you.

Membership is only $15 a month per household (paid quarterly), so it's affordable. Where else can you get so much for so little? Join today!
